Band/Instrument Lessons

Hi Instrumental Students!

I am completely bummed that there is no realistic way to have band rehearsals during this closing. 😭  That said, I am equally excited to try giving you all virtual, private, 15-minute lessons! 😁

Please read these instructions that were sent to all families.

We will follow our normal lesson schedule for the DAY ONLY, so if you would have had a lesson on Monday, we'll try to make sure you have a virtual lesson each Monday.  As far as scheduling goes, I will initiate that day's lesson schedule via email to your school student email account.

For reference, I've listed our lesson days below but for privacy's sake, I can't post individual names.  Hopefully, you can still find your lesson day with my hints below 😉:

  • MONDAY:
    • TCS:  6th/4th Trombones, 4th Percussion;  NDS:  4th/5th Trombones, all 6th grade
  • TUESDAY:
    • TCS:  6th/5th Saxophones, 6th Flute, 6th Clarinet, 5th Clarinet (in band), 6th/5th/4th Trumpet, 5th/4th Flute
  • WEDNESDAY:
    • TCS:  5th Clarinet (not in band), 6th/5th Percussion
  • THURSDAY:
    • NDS:  4th Trumpet, 5th/4th Percussion, 5th Saxophone, 5th Flute, 5th/4th Clarinet
  • FRIDAY:
    • NDS:  4th Saxophone, 5th Trumpet

We will use GOOGLE MEET for lessons.  When it's time for your lesson, I'll send you an email  Open the email and click on the link to join the video chat (you may have to click "ok" or "join chat" once or twice along the way).

5-10 minutes before your lesson's start time, please do the following so you're ready when we connect:

  • Set up your instrument.
  • Have your lesson book & band music ready and propped up against something or on a music stand.
  • Clarinets and Saxophones:  Keep your reeds in your mouth until we're connected so they don't dry out during that process.
  • Trumpets and trombones:  Please do your whole buzz routine before we connect so you're ready to go!

Above all else, the absolute best thing we can do during this extended time away from school is to KEEP PLAYINGPlease try to play/practice your instrument 3-4 times per week, for about 10-15 minutes.
